The City of San Javier has scheduled several events to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which falls on November 25
The Women and Equality Councillor of the City of San Javier, Guadalupe Garcia, presented today at a press conference the program of activities organized by this institution to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The mayor explained that the objective of this program is "to highlight the importance of visible and denaturalize gender violence" and "sensitize the public to be aware of the true extent of this social evil."
So, next Monday, November 19, will be placed banners on violence against women in the city and in public schools in the municipality.
Under this program, Tuesday, November 20, the local board shall be constituted against Gender Violence, a body that will coordinate actions in prevention and to be represented in the various sectors involved in the fight against this violence.
On Wednesday, November 21, will be held a talk about equality, by psychologist Maria Angeles Rosique, and author Julia Romero presented the book "Fox", a publication that collects testimonies of 18 victims of violence gender.
The II Solidaire "Walking together against Violence" will be released on Thursday, November 22, the hall of the City of San Javier at 09:30 am and Friday, November 23, will be held reading the manifesto International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
This program will end on Monday, November 26, with an information table in the Plaza of the Constitution to raise awareness and educate the citizens of this problem "has no age, social class or educational level," concluded the mayor.
Apart from this program, from the departments of Equality and Social Services are held at various performances throughout the year in prevention and care, as talks in secondary schools, legal and psychological counseling, etc..
