The Centre for Tourism Initiatives in San Javier exposes the thrones of seven models of the local Easter, in a sample that includes a replica of St. Peter the Apostle Church
The Councillor for Tourism of San Javier, Antonio Garcia, president of the Cabildo and General Partnerships Easter, Mariano Visedo, today inaugurated the exhibition of model pinatarense Holy Week, along with its author, Ginés López Pardo .
The sample consists of replicas of the thrones of the Holy Grail, Christ's Atonement, Medinaceli Christ, St. Peter the Apostle, the old San Juan, Holy Sepulchre and Our Lady Our Lady of Sorrows, and a model of the church of San Apostle Peter.
The council has stressed the accuracy of these replicas, and the attention to detail, reflecting the work and dedication of the author of the work.
For his part, President of the City Council thanked Ginés López, brother of St. Peter the Apostle, his involvement in the Easter pinatarense and encouraged to continue working on new models to show the reality of local processions.
Meanwhile, Ginés López explained that began this work in 2004, motivated by his love of the cribs.
Since then, the author ends a model every year, coinciding with the start of Holy Week.
Thus, each of these models requires around 500 hours of work and are used for processing different materials like wood, aluminum, modeling clay, textiles, etc..
Also, the author accompanies the models with small Nazarenes in which recreates the clothing of each of the brotherhoods that carry the various steps.
Ginés López has said that he intends to continue working through these miniatures, recreating the various thrones of Easter pinatarense and has advanced to the next project is the pious Veronica.
The models will be on display at the Tourist Initiative Centre until 22 March and may visit at the regular business hours of the office, Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 14:00, Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 18:00, and on Sundays from 10:30 to 14:00 hours.
