The regular meeting of City Social Council, held on February 19, addressed the participatory process to advance the Municipal Plan Review Urban and municipal budgets approved for the year 2013.
Thus, municipal technicians and Citizenship Planning presented the first results of citizen surveys conducted under the participatory process "We have a plan for you."
The data show that people opt for a municipality to take strategic action as the main building of a sustainable tourism sector, adapted to the new economic, social and cultural as well as commercial sector support.
Respondents also advocated increasing bike lanes, improved traffic and parking, as well as defining higher pedestrian spaces.
These priorities will materialize in the later stages of advance and review General Municipal Management Plan.
Moreover, the Councillor for Finance, José Fernández, said the general criteria of municipal budgets for the year 2013, which have dominated the maintenance and improvement of basic services and items have been strengthened as social policy, education and employment.
In the ample opportunity for questions, board members were interested, also, for real investments for this year, which will include improving municipal infrastructure.
The mayor, Visitation Martinez stressed that this forum is created to generate closeness and communication channels, in order to deepen the transparency of local government, and encouraged Council members to utilize this forum to include new issues and proposals for discussion at future meetings.
