DG Environment of the Ministry of Presidency has conducted the adequacy and provision of access to the areas allocated to the mud baths of the Regional Park of the Salinas and Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar.
This is to ensure accessibility and security of visitors who access the salt pond in search of treatment of high therapeutic value, while increasing the influx of people to this famous pond.
The work consisted in setting appropriate access structures sludge ponds and installation of a gazebo, next to Mill Quentin, to provide an area for bird watching.
It has also ensured the stability of slopes and hillsides, the removal of structures and removing inappropriate ropes and sharp objects.
With these actions, promotes conservation of mud baths, as well as sustainable development and a commitment to quality tourism to the region of the Mar Menor.
The most visited area of the Regional Park
The formation of sludge Regional Park of San Pedro Salinas begins with the transfer of water from the Mar Menor to Charco Grande (salt pond), where under certain conditions form silts and clays, which are the real architects of the properties attributed to the sludge to maintain good health.
The result is a valuable therapeutic mud known for its healing and beautifying, reasons that have led to the so-called 'sludge pond' to be the most visited of the Regional Park.
The high number of visitors to this enclave has necessitated the installation of platforms, solarium and access ramps for visitors.
