Manuel Hernández Iglesias, responsible UPyD National Education, participated yesterday in a panel discussion on the education system in San Pedro del Pinatar by the training council in the municipality, José Luis Ros, and the head of IES Dos Mares Studies Antonio Marchal.
Hernandez made a review of the state of Education in Spain and its current division into "seventeen educational systems," highlighting major problems as truancy, low academic achievement and identity and ideological indoctrination.
On the current reform proposed by the central government, LOMCE, Hernandez said the "opacity" in their current processing: "Today there on the table a draft, but tomorrow may comp defends government completely contrary" noting that the very Government and the Popular Party are at loggerheads on the issue.
For Hernandez this situation of secret negotiations and lack of transparency, is the lack of seriousness and respect to citizens.
The conference showed that favors UPyD curricular diversification and flexibility, as the current draft of the LOMCE, but diametrically opposed to other measures such as not bet on the creation of a unique space Spanish education at different levels, which is "an assignment by the nationalist parties, particularly the PNV and CiU".
Furthermore, according to Hernandez reform will also mean "the commitment to more radical confessional history of our educational system, as it wants the Episcopal Conference. UPyD is a secular party and therefore can not be in favor of such interference in Public Education ".
For his part, Councillor pinatarense concluded that "as all indicators show the Spanish education system has many flaws and they need for their solution a State Pact for Education to end the political and ideological reforms either sign and embed stability and consistency our system. Until this occurs, we will have a failed education system will be restored whenever you change the color of the central government ".
