About 50 people participate today in the collective reading in English, French and Castilian scheduled by the Department of Culture of San Pedro del Pinatar with the collaboration of the Universidad Popular and Official Language School of San Javier.
San Pedro del Pinatar today celebrated World Book Day with a continuous reading of selected texts of literature in Castilian, English and French in the Plaza of the Constitution.
This activity, which has had the collaboration of the Official Language School of San Javier, the People's University, Conexia Bookseller EOISJ and Ler Pinatar, started at 17:30 hours and it involved more than 60 people.
Reading has begun with French poems of Baudelaire and Louis Aragon, in addition to reading chapters from "The Little Prince", which featured texts have followed English literature.
The mayor of the municipality, Visitation Martinez, has started reading Castilian past 18:30 with an extract from the book "The time of all and fortune with brains" by Francisco Quevedo.
Other authors selected this language have been Gabriel García Márquez, Carmen Posadas, Mario Benedetti, Damaso Alonso, and Ana Maria Matute.
Children have also been involved in the celebration of World Book Day, with a continuous school reading Andersen tales, involving students from four schools in the municipality.
The events of World Book Day will end tomorrow with the second day of school reading and a poetry reading by local theater group La Barraca of Federico.
The Department of Culture has scheduled this year more than a dozen of activities that have been developed in parallel with the Book Fair, which began on Saturday April 20 at the Plaza of the Constitution.
