The Day Centre Aideman of San Pedro del Pinatar currently serves 160 users with intellectual disabilities who have 14 workshops, speech therapy, physiotherapy and dining, and other services
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, CEO of Persons with Disabilities of IMAS, John Brown, and the Councillor for Social Services, Francisca Pelegrin, have come today to the tenth anniversary of the day center for people with intellectual disabilities Aidemar association manages in San Pedro del Pinatar.
This center, which currently work 37 professionals, is open daily to 160 people with intellectual disabilities in 18-65 years.
Thus, since its opening in 2003 have passed through the center more than 250 users of the district of Mar Menor and surrounding municipalities.
The president of the Association for the Integration of the Disabled in the district of Mar Menor (Aidemar), Francisco Garcia, and director of the Center for Day, Francis Vidal, explained the operation and services offered by the center since its inception in underway.
Currently the Day Center develops manufactures nine specific workshops such as packaging, making paper bags, soaps, books, coffee capsule recycling, textiles, mosaics, ceramics and gardening, among others.
This offer is complemented with five multipurpose workshops for the development of personal autonomy in daily life as well as social and communication skills.
The center also includes areas of physiotherapy, physical education and sport, psychologist counselor, education, speech therapy, and social work department.
After learning center facilities, there has been a small act of recognition, which has awarded the work of older workers, those who began the journey to the center and the dedication and effort of the users.
