The Local Government Board this week approved the grant pinatarenses associations that collaborate with the Food Bank of Murcia helping needy families in the town and at risk of social exclusion
The City of San Pedro del Pinatar, through the Department of Citizen Participation, has approved the call for grants to municipal associations collaborate with the food aid plan of the Region of Murcia.
The mayor of the municipality, Visitation Martinez, explained that the aid has an overall budget of 20,000 euros and will target those municipal associations that collaborate in the collection and distribution of food to needy families pinatarenses.
He added that the purpose of these grants is to help and support the important social work carried out by these associations in the town helping to mitigate the difficulties faced by many families pinatarenses a result of the economic crisis.
In granting such aid will be considered general criteria as the economic situation of the company, his career in the city, the number of people served by its activity, the social interest of the work done and the sectors of the population it addresses.
It also assessed the distribution of the received supplementary food for the food bank, foster a correct and complete nutrition, promote intervention in food staples, promote coordination of resources between the city and partnerships, develop the concept active social participation, promote living spaces, and prevent risk factors for social exclusion.
