The City of San Pedro del Pinatar has organized the popular race "Pinatarius Obstaculum Cursus," a seven-kilometer fun tour where participants will face obstacles such as fences, pools of mud, ice, jump fences, slopes and tunnels.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez and the Councillor for Sports, Pedro Luis Vera, presented today at a press conference the race "Pinatarius Obstaculum Cursus", which will be held on Sunday, June 23, in the framework of the festivities.
Visitation Martinez explained that it is a foot race of about seven miles, that part of the Leisure and Arts Centre Emerging run close to the sports center.
During the race, participants must pass around natural obstacles such as steep or tunnels, and artificial, like barbed wire, mud pools, tires, ice or fences.
The mayor stressed the festive and fun of this test, which adds for the first time the program of the festivities and has set in ancient Rome, as a nod to the historical roots of the town, and to the hardships faced by Roman gladiators.
Visitation Martinez thanked the involvement of the departments of Sport, Youth and Celebrations, and collaboration Unlimited Art Association, which has produced a promotional video filmed testing and development of the same, and businesses Cubiplaya, Sanchez Arteco , Transport and Excavation Fran, Urdemasa, and Enclosures Hormyplac, who contributed material for the realization of the obstacles.
For his part, Councillor for Sports has encouraged young people of the town and the partners of the rocks to form teams to participate in this "crazy" urban test, with which you will discover a new way of running.
Vera stated that the test now has more than 90 people enrolled in different municipalities in the region and nearby provinces and has reported that stakeholders have until next Friday.
