The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez and Civil Protection Councillor, Pedro Luis Vera, were given to the winning teams in the First Regional Championship First Aid and Rescue at beaches held last June 9 in Santiago de La Ribera
SAMU teams and volunteers from San Pedro del Pinatar lifted last June 9 with the first and third prize respectively in the I Regional Championship First Aid and Rescue in Playas organized by the Institute Claudius Galen.
The mayor, Visitation Martinez and Civil Protection Councillor, Pedro Luis Vera, recently commended the role played by both teams in this tournament which was attended by seven teams of technical and / or volunteers of the coastal municipalities of the Region.
As part of this meeting, technicians and volunteers reported that the cash prizes go, endowed with 3,000 euros for the winner and $ 1,000 the third, emergency training and equipment to donate to the Civil Protection service.
Visitation Martinez praised the gesture that, in his view, reflects the professionalism of the team that makes up the municipal Emergency, formed by 22 professionals and hundreds of volunteers who last year took part in 1,500 notices.
Likewise, the Emergency Service performs numerous training for volunteers injured monographs on immobilization, use of fire extinguishers, search and rescue, climbing or flooding techniques.
These courses are also extended to other groups such as schools in the municipality and women are taught to conduct talks on PAS.
The First Regional Championship First Aid and Rescue was intended to demonstrate the knowledge and skills used by the components of the equipment to respond to any emergency that may arise on the beaches and its approaches.
The components of the equipment had to overcome four different tests for what was available 20 minutes per test, employing only fortune and material provided by the organization.
In these tests the teams were configured as basic life support crews, who sometimes individually and once as a group, should address that housed separate incidents from cardiac arrest, saves on water, falls at different levels and with multiple traffic accidents victims, which were staged in different beaches of Santiago de la Ribera.
Emergency Service and Civil Protection of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar, presented two teams to the championship, one professional staff composed SAMU, which won first place, and another set entirely by Civil Defence volunteers, who became third place.
