Over 130 runners circumvent the 54 obstacles popular career Obstaculum Pinatarius Cursus (23/06/2013)

The Valencian rider Francisco Javier Lazaro (Ayora) took victory in this walking tour seven kilometers in which participants had to overcome over 50 obstacles like fences, gauge wire, mud pools, ice containers, trenches or tunnels.

The first edition of the popular race Obstaculum Pinatarius today Cursus has gathered more than 130 runners, who have had to deal with 54 natural and artificial obstacles in an urban route of 7 kilometers in San Pedro del Pinatar.

The race, organized by the departments of Sports, Youth and Celebrations, started after 11:00 hours Leisure and Arts Centre Emerging, where the youth association Unlimited Art, has acclimated participants with a performance based on ancient Rome, Caesar, escorted by a large retinue, encouraged runners to achieve glory and become true gladiators.

After seven miles of difficulties, the broker Francis Xavier Lazarus, of the Valencian town of Ayora, first reached the finish line.

In the women's triumph has been to Jessica Stephanie Nuñez.

As for local runners, Antonio Ballester has been the top-ranked men's category, while Sonia pinatarense Nut has been reached before the finish line.

The race has traveled to various urban areas of the municipality, such as adjacent to the Sports City, Doctor Artero Guirao Avenue, the area parallel to the A-7, or assembly of the cattle fair.

But the greatest difficulty for the 135 participants was 54 overcome obstacles that have included test site containers, jumping fences, ponds, moats, mountains of sand, logs, pipes, concrete pipes and trenches.

In addition, participants have overcome water containers and ice tunnels and drains in the vicinity of the highway, earrings, tires, balancing logs, installation of fences and livestock fair, among other difficulties.

The finish line, located in the Paseo Alcalde José Ballester, was seen arriving at the brave participants of this race, set in ancient Rome, which is part of the festivities of San Pedro del Pinatar.

This festive atmosphere has encouraged many of the runners to participate in costume.

After the race, was held a meal preceded by the award from the hands of the mayor, Visitation Martinez, and Council of Sports, Pedro Luis Vera, Youth, Angela Gaona, and Celebrations, Silvia Egea.
