A total of 36 lifeguards make the watchdog that since last Monday, July 1, to September 15, will operate on the eight beaches of the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean in the municipality.
The operative surveillance summer beaches, included in the Plan Ballad, has nine towers in the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea (El Mojon, Shed Quemada, Crumbling Tower, Las Salinas and Punta Algae), plus three checkpoints , rescue and first aid and five chairs proximity to the beaches of the Mar Menor (Villananitos, The Puntica, and La Mota).
This monitoring device, which develops from 11:30 to 19:30, is supported by means of water, and two rescue boats and two water rescue bikes.
Among other functions, the lifeguards attend Villananitos accessible points and Puntica, featuring amphibious chairs and crutches for bathing for the disabled, and inform swimmers about the need to respect the measures of prevention.
