Union, Progress and Democracy has returned to denounce the terrible situation in terms of garbage collection in San Pedro del Pinatar during the summer months: to odors produced by high temperatures, adds a collected enough to have tried to solve since municipal government with more container facility concentrated in a few areas.

According to José Luis Ros, UPyD spokesman in San Pedro, "this situation is not solved by putting more containers that give a bad image of the people, because in some places they get to count up to 10 containers at the point of collection. Furthermore, UPyD complaint that the Popular Party has no intention or interest in solving the problem, since the contract paper and plastic collection has been awarded recently and was poorly designed, completely insufficient for the summer.

Also, the contract for the collection of organic waste does not meet the actual minimum requirements gathered during the two previous summers which has ruled the PP.

According to Ros: "The PP knows that garbage contracts are inadequate and does nothing to fix it. Indeed, the current waste disposal company has made a proposal to improve the contract at no cost to City Council coffers and, for now, the government has not made any response, nor has conveyed to us the opposition, when there are multiple requests for neighborhood associations and entrepreneurs to expand the number of collected in summer, especially in the coastal area of ​​Lo Pagan ".

Councilman magenta also noted that the accumulation of garbage, is the lack of cleanliness of the containers and surroundings.

"In many areas of Lo Pagan and even in busy areas of town and next to the library, you stay close to the ground and the dirt container there."

UPyD also alleged that odors and nuisance to neighbors, joins the increase of mosquitoes and flies in these areas and, in some cases, other animals like rats from solar uncleaned, who see these collection centers a food and hiding.

For Ros: "one must address a quick fix for this problem, either the company has raised or an alternative, as year after year we denounce these events and return to them the following year exactly. The PP has to talk more and continually reject proposals that are made, as this will only make mistakes and give back to the problems of the citizens. "
