This is the second edition of the awards, which are part of the Program of Actions for Coastal Conservation, developed by the Biodiversity Foundation and this year received 83 proposals.

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Federico Ramos, today presented the "Responsible Chiringuitos Awards" in its second edition, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, through the Biodiversity Foundation.
The ceremony took place at the headquarters of MAGRAMA of Plaza San Juan dela Cruz s / n, Madrid.
The aim of these awards, Ramos recalled, "to recognize the implementation of economic activities that respect the environment and contribute to coastal protection."
In this second edition of the awards, highlighted the involvement and commitment of several federations, associations and groups of bars with these objectives.
It also stressed that "the protection and conservation of natural values ​​and biodiversity present in our coastline, such as beaches, dune systems and coastal wetlands, which constitute this important heritage of all are priorities of the Ministry".

About the awards, Ramos added that are a recognition of the administration to all those who engage and collaborate with policy and coastal protection are examples of sustainable work.
In this regard stressed that if last year there were 55 nominations for the awards, this year we received 83.
Secretary of State also stressed that the Decalogue good environmental practices has managed to create a network of about 600 bars committed to the conservation, recycling, efficient use of energy.

The prize of prizes totaling 22,500 euros, divided into three categories, 'Initiatives developed', 'Ideas' and Initiatives / Ideas federations, associations or groups Chiringuitos, within which were delivered 7 Awards: first 4 prizes of $ 4,000, two second prizes of € 2,500 and a third prize amounting to 1,500 euros.

CONTRIBUTION TO INFORMATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS
During the celebration ceremony of the second edition of "Responsible Chiringuitos Awards" held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, the Secretary of State for the Environment has awarded the following prizes:
In the category of 'Developed Initiatives' has been awarded in the first place, the Snack Matalascañas Carp (Huelva) for his service and collection of waste oils, the smoke extraction system, controlled water discharge, the LED lighting automatic control by time of day, service and information about the values ​​of the coast.
Second, Kiosk Bitakora of San Pedro del Pinatar (Murcia) has been distinguished by its collection of waste and oils (reused to make natural soap), its dual-flush toilets and taps, water saving pedal, use ecological refrigerator with ice and refrigerated appliances with energy certification because their suppliers are local, and have a point of information and environmental awareness.
Finally, third, the Snack La Moraga, Adra (Almería), has been honored for his collection of waste and oils (reused to make natural soap), for the stall to clean with water recycled or reused, by be designed with a shape and materials that allow you to maximize the natural light and ventilation significantly reducing energy use, and because they hire local people at risk of social exclusion.
These establishments have received prizes worth 4,000, 2,500 and 1,500 euros, respectively.
In the category of 'ideas' have won, first and second, respectively, establishments Tiki Bar Beach in Valencia, and Victor Churros and Chocolate in San Pedro del Pinatar, a prize of 4,000 € and 2,500 € respectively, for initiatives that intend to develop over the coming months.
Tiki Bar Beach placed a green dot for waste collection on the beach, by extending its use to all beach users, not just customers, use reusable cups, install a solar panel for energy self-sufficiency and organize workshops recycling as well as activities to mark the World Environment Day.
Meanwhile, Victor Chocolates Churros and reuse the plastic bottles as a planter for Aleppo pine planting a Local dune area of ​​great natural value, and work with the "Wetland Centre" Natural Park Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro "to encourage the active participation of the young and their awareness on environmental issues.
Finally, in the category of Initiatives / Ideas federations, associations or groups Chiringuitos, the jury awarded € 4,000 each, to the Provincial Association of Playas de Cádiz (ACOA) and Mar y Sombra SL.
In this category the jury awarded two awards to recognize the work of organizations of different nature, on the one hand a group with entrepreneurial and on the other to the federation or association of bars.
The jury for these awards was composed of the President of the Association of Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC), the Director of Education and the Environment of the Red Cross, the Director General of Local Policies dela Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, the General Director of Sustainability of the Coast and the Sea, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment and Director of the Biodiversity Foundation.
TWO AWARDS LIABLE CHIRINGUITOS
For the second consecutive year, THE MAGRAMA through the Biodiversity Foundation launched the "Responsible Chiringuitos Awards".
Called the month of June, this call is addressed to all beach establishments attached to the set of good practices developed or submit actions to take to promote sustainability.
The nomination was open until 15 September.
A total of 83 were received proposals.
