Churros and Chocolate Establishments Victor and Kiosk Bitakora, have been awarded the second prize of "Responsible Chiringuitos" in categories and Ideas Developed Initiatives, respectively.

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Federico Ramos, yesterday gave awards for the second edition of "Responsible Chiringuitos", in which the Biodiversity Foundation rewards initiatives that contribute to coastal protection and respect for the environment.

The bars of San Pedro del Pinatar Kiosk Churros and Chocolate Log and Victor, have been selected among 83 proposals submitted in this second edition.

Thus the Blog Kiosk, located on the beach in Villananitos, won the second prize of 2,500 euros, in the category of "Initiatives developed" for his collection of waste and oil, reused for making natural soap, their dual-flush toilets and pedal taps saving water, using ice-cold green refrigerator and appliances with energy certification, as well as having an information and environmental awareness.

Meanwhile Victor Churros and Chocolate, installed in La Mota, has been awarded the second prize of 2,500 euros also, in the "Ideas".

This will reuse plastic bottles as a planter for Aleppo pine planting a Local dune area of ​​great natural value, and will collaborate with the Center for Wetlands Natural Park of Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro to encourage active participation the youngest and environmental awareness.

Recall that in the first edition of the awards, held last year, the snack Calisto, located on the beach of El Mojon, also won third prize in the category of ideas.

The Councillor for Tourism of San Pedro del Pinatar, Antonio Garcia, who accompanied the officials of both institutions, stressed the importance of these initiatives for the preservation and enhancement of coastal and welcomed the involvement of the bars of the municipality, as nine joined them during the first year of this campaign to the code of practice proposed by the Biodiversity Foundation, which have benefited and 600 bars.
