The volunteer program "Discover the best of you, get voluntary" begins its second edition with news on the two main lines of action and training for new enrollees
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez and Volunteer Councilman Alvaro Tárraga, presented today at a press conference the second local volunteer plan that includes several lines of action in civic and social.
Visitation Martinez stressed the great success of the program in its first year of implementation, a total of 50 volunteers who have developed various social, cultural, educational and environmental.
The mayor has said that this program is tailored to the social reality of the town, so that has been told for processing with the suggestions and contributions of partnerships and volunteers.
It also recalled that in this edition maintains the agreement signed with the University of Murcia for the college students who join this project get free credits for voluntary action.
Volunteer Councilman Alvaro detailed Tárraga different lines and projects in this plan.
Thus, in the field of voluntary work, intended to foster solidarity and intergenerational relations, volunteers help elderly and dependent with small actions like read the newspaper or take a walk.
This year is also incorporated this line actions in nursing homes and day center located in Lo Pagan.
As for civic volunteer, this consists of several lines, such as the educational and cultural in which volunteers can perform various activities organized by the council, education assistant, storytelling, encourage reading, homework club, etc. .
Also, volunteers may be involved in solidarity actions, such as the "Cart Solidarity", social, health and environmental protection, through various local associations which they operate in the municipality.
In addition, the mayor explained that it is open plan to the suggestions raised each volunteer individually, adapting activities and areas of work to these proposals.
He added that currently there are 30 and interested in joining the voluntary plan in this second phase and therefore soon be taught training courses so they can begin their work voluntarily.
