The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez and Councillor for Tourism, Antonio García, today presented new tours scheduled for the months of November to April, and a route guide that includes a map ecotourism Regional Park and several tours in this environment.
Visitation Martinez stressed that the aim of this action is to promote and add value to the Salinas and Arenales Regional Park and visitors aware of the fragility of their ecosystems and the need to preserve it.
In this sense, the mayor has highlighted the characteristics of this "natural wonder", which occupies 856 acres and has several international figures as RAMSAR wetland protection, an SPA and is included in the Natura 2000 network.
For his part, Councillor for Tourism, Antonio García, explained that the new ecotourism tours guide includes a map of the Regional Park and its surroundings, as well as the description and characteristics of three different routes.
Thus, this publication includes routes "Path of the Mediterranean", a distance of 5 kilometers, which covers the coastline from the beach of El Mojon to La Puntica and "Path of Coterillo", a circular walk 3, 8 km with which visitors can enter the park, watching the birds and get to the natural beach Crumbling Tower.
The guide also describes the path "Path of weirs", with a distance of 11.9 miles and cross the proposed Regional Park almost entirely, enjoying the different landscapes such as salt ponds, natural beaches, ancient mills, and therapeutic mud baths.
Moreover, the council has explained that since the council will run until April an extensive program of guided tours in which participants will be accompanied by an environmental guide and give the opportunity to learn more in-depth park.
So, this calendar is composed of "Life in the world of salt", included in the program of free guided tours of the Institute of Tourism of the Region, as well as routes "Pedal on the fence" that runs along the South Park stopping at the beach of Punta Algae.
Tourism also provides the path "Path of Coterillo", in which sighted birds like herons, sandpipers, storks and flamingos and other species and will be a stop on the natural beach Crumbling Tower.
All tours will be held on a Sunday and the last two will cost 5 euros for adults and 3 euros for children from three years.
