On Sunday, November 10, the Department of Tourism of San Pedro del Pinatar made the first tour of the Path of Coterillo, an activity included in the program of routes in the vicinity of Salinas and Arenales Park to be held between the months of October to April.
The departure took place at 10:00 hours Coterillo parking, starting with the observation through binoculars of different birds from the Observatory of the pond.
The march continued for the white and green of enjoying local path to the left of the landscape dominated by salt mining ponds and right of the pine forest, the continued lying slightly east wind action.
Once in the curve of the Snake, the environmental guide stopped in this area of ​​beaches, dunes and salt marshes, home to many species of plants such as thyme Toad, the trefoil of sea, beach grass, sea lily or the striking thistle Blue among others.
After crossing the wooden walkway to the beach access Crumbling Tower was southbound walked along the shore of the sea and had the opportunity to see the so-called "wrack" which are the remains of marine vegetation from grassland seagrass growing on the seabed off the coast, water quality indicators and a high biological value.
The last meters of the route were made along the edge of the beach to regain the Coterillo parking, place of departure.
The next route "SL MU-9 Coterillo Path" will take place on Sunday January 12, and there will be two routes, on Sundays, February 16 and March 23.
