Union, Progress and Democracy has expressed a complaint about the work being undertaken in the drinking water of the village, because they had not been informed of the works to the neighbors.
Councilman UPyD in San Pedro del Pinatar José Luis Ros has detected that the works are more annoying than they should for citizens due to lack of information.
"Given how annoying it is to open a trench in a street for residents and businesses, we demand to be informed through posters and advance to the neighbors what day they will start work on your street and how much is expected to last approximately" magenta councilman noted.
The works of replacement of water pipes have been initiated by the service concessionaire, Aqualia, and are due to two main reasons: the large losses of water that had previous installations, from 46% in 2011, and own water quality was very close to not be considered safe from a health point of view.
Therefore, the works required were vital and UPyD supported the agreement with Aqualia when discussed in the plenary of the village in the month of March.
Thus, the work will involve the replacement of all lead pipes and asbestos cement, generating quality problems and loss of water, which the City Council also had to pay even if not consumed.
The works have a total cost of 2.86 million euros that the concessionaire assumes Aqualia, because the City Council has no economic availability to carry out.
The municipality shall compensate the company by reducing what it pays for the service award.
So, will a future reduction in income, but UPyD considers it necessary and which should have occurred long ago.
The magenta party believes that although the works are occurring at great, we need to better and advance to the population report, since the estimated time of completion of the work is one year and affects almost the entire municipality .
Therefore, it is of great importance when trying to minimize the inconvenience that inevitably will occur for businesses and families.
