The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitacion Martinez, and councilors of Women and Equality, Guadalupe Garcia and Social Services, Francisca Pelegrin, recently participated in the third walking path "Walking together against violence", an activity that is part in the events planned to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
This solidarity march has traveled more than six miles, from City Hall to El Mojon in a circular route that crossed the main streets of town.
The marchers have worn a black t-shirts with the message "No to violence" and making visible the rejection of this social scourge and support to victims.
The mayor thanked the participation in this third gear and indicated that the purpose of this route, as well as other events held over the last week, is fighting from the local level to eliminate such violence and deepen awareness and prevention.
After the march met the Local Coordination Bureau Violence, composed of representatives of various groups involved in preventing and combating violence against women and aims to promote early detection of cases, providing a quick response to victims, inform and sensitize the citizens and organize activities to promote gender equality.
