The municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar today celebrated the International Volunteer Day with an act that has recognized the work of fifty people participating in the Municipal Plan "Discover the best in you, become a volunteer."
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitacion Martinez, director of the Social Policy of the Autonomous Community, Leopoldo Navarro, Volunteering and Councilman Alvaro Tárraga today have recognized the work of more than 50 people assigned to local volunteer Plan that since its introduction last year, have developed various activities in the social and civic realm.
Councilman Volunteer rated the acceptance of this plan that in one year alone has trained more than 50 volunteers who, through their work, have shown that San Pedro del Pinatar is a supportive and active town.
It also thanked the participating associations, schools, municipal libraries and nursing homes, which make it possible to develop voluntary civic and social activity.
During the event is designed for a video in which several volunteers explained their experience and which have agreed about the benefits of volunteering as an action that always "you get more than what you give."
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitacion Martinez, highlighted the dedication and enthusiasm that show volunteers in various roles, and has described the actions performed priceless day for the benefit of others.
Meanwhile, Leopoldo Navarro noted that in the region of Murcia there are more than 30,000 volunteers "willing to give the best of themselves" and conveyed the appreciation of the whole society to these people who "put the soul in actions conduct contributing to a better society. "
The event ended with the presentation of a small gift to each of the volunteers in appreciation for the important role they perform in the town with various performances such as support for study, support the elderly, environmental, educational, and libraries, among others.
