The Plenum of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar has today approved the management contract for street cleaning which will be valid for 10 years and incorporating improvements such as new equipment, more staff, along with a web page and a 24 hour hotline citizen services.
The City of San Pedro del Pinatar adopted at the plenary session today the management contract for street cleaning, which is valid for 10 years, which amounts to 9.88 million euros.
Recruitment Councilwoman Angela Gaona, explained that it was necessary to regulate and improve the management of this service contract because it lacked and was carried out with obsolete machinery.
The company has been awarded the company Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas (FCC), which has submitted an offer to 988,168.13 USD per year, a reduction of 31,609 euros on the bid price.
So, Gaona has indicated that the service with all new equipment required in the specifications including sweepers, mechanical scrubber, vacuum cleaners, auxiliary vehicles, folding carts and carrying buckets, blowers, and sprayers.
In addition, 200 public bins and 10 bins for dog waste tank will be installed.
Among other developments, the service with a telephone line 900 free and active 24 hours to respond to inquiries, complaints and citizen demands.
Neighbors also will have a web page, and control and management of the service internally with GPS devices and mobile phone lines in vehicles will be improved.
Under this contract, and all staff working in the service and also incorporate four more temporary contracts to strengthen the service during the summer, as well as parties and other events is subrogated.
The council has also highlighted that the collection of waste from street cleaning will be borne by the concessionaire, which represents a significant savings because, until now, moved to municipal warehouse and removal was performed by operators Community Services.
Angela Gaona has concluded that this contract provides a significant improvement in street cleaning services, in compliance with European environmental regulations and providing information channel and direct to the public consultation.
