The Memory Cross is a documentary film project, a result of the joint work of the Bank of Wisdom Pinatarense and partnership AIKE Mar Menor, in which five largest municipality walking the recent history of San Pedro del Pinatar through their experiences
The tent city of San Pedro del Pinatar hosted last night, December 20, the screening of the documentary Memories Crusades, a study conducted by the Department of Citizenship through the Bank project Pinattarense Wisdom in collaboration with the cultural association AIKE Mar Menor.
This project came to honor the elderly in the municipality for the last 2012 celebration of the Year of Intergenerational and treasure in order to oral sources of the recent history of San Pedro del Pinatar.
Thus, this documentary brings together the experiences and experiences of Jose Guirao, Martínez, Francisco Sánchez Jiménez, Domingo Hernández Pardo, Francisco Sanchez and Francisca Sánchez Sánchez Guirao, protagonists of this documentary and who volunteered to work with the bank and give wisdom pinatarense their life stories.
Through their stories, attendees learned about the everyday, the unofficial history, lifestyle, anecdotes and relationships between residents of the municipality, discovering local history in an entertaining way, recovering the memory of the people to pass it on to future generations.
The life stories of a fisherman, a farmer, a merchant, a photographer and a housewife coral make this documentary in which each of the characters narrates in first person how his childhood and youth in San Pedro del Pinatar, how activity was in his youth and how they have transformed the town seen over the years.
Special mention deserve the chapters to work, which refers to the Chocolate Factory, a major national manufacturers of chocolate; imprint fishing, sailing boats and motor boats, salt mining, agriculture and life commercial.
Also highlights the changing role of women from housework to joining the workforce, and their role in the community life of the village.
Regarding the live entertainment, the protagonists of this documentary recalls the town cinemas, casino, dancing, walks, and the arrival of village festivals with enthusiasm and excitement.
The event, attended by around 300 people, featured a performance by the local band Musical Union, which introduced the act with the interpretation of several musical pieces known soundtracks like The Godfather or Life is Beautiful, among others.
In conclusion, the Mayor, Councillor Visitation Martinez and Citizen Participation, Silvia Egea, appreciated the contribution of the participants in this project by delivering a copy of the documentary.
The Bank of Wisdom is an open project that hopes to collect the life stories of all who desire pinatarenses, thus building on the legacy of the village.
