The Department of Social Services is conducting a workshop on drug prevention aimed at families which aims to provide basic guidelines and strategies to help parents understand concepts drug-related, the behavior of teen-age children and improve communication relationships in the home.
Thus, the workshop includes three training sessions taught by Pilar Martinez, a psychologist of Social Services, and Candido Lorente, trainee Faculty of Social Work at the University of Murcia.
In the first session an introduction to drug prevention from the family was performed, and communication between parents and children is addressed.
The second day, held today, has been about how to set limits nomas and in the family and the consequences of cannabis use.
The workshop will conclude on Feb. 25 with a session that will will focus on how to address the problem of alcohol and how to educate for leisure.
This workshop is part of the II Municipal Drug Addiction Prevention Plan that includes various programs and activities at the community, school and family areas, in order to reduce and modify risk and impact on the negative consequences of drugs, and prevent young people from starting in the consumption of them.
