Pinatarense Holy Week begins this weekend with the V National Contest Processional Marches "Villa de San Pedro", the announcer proclamation of Easter and, new this year, the concert flamenco arrows Curro Piñana offer Saturday in the church of St. Peter the Apostle.
The events begin on Friday, April 4, with the V National Contest Marches Easter Procession "Villa de San Pedro", to be held at the Church of the Holy Trinity and who have attended a total of 40 compositions various parts of Spain.
During the contest, the Musical Union of San Pedro band marches interpret the five finalists and the judges will determine the winner, which this year will be for the Confraternity of Our Lady of Sorrows.
Furthermore, during the course of the event, the council held the appointment of General Procesionista the Year accolade for the first time, Norberto Martínez Albaladejo.
The events continue on Saturday, April 5, from 21:00 in the church of St. Peter the Apostle, in concert singer Curro Saetas Piñana of Cartagena.
Important from a flamenco family, Curro Piñana has won several awards throughout his career, most notably the prestigious mining lamp Festival del Cante de las Minas de La Unión (1998).
Piñana has offered dozens of concerts in major concert halls nationally and internationally.
It is also a great student of flamenco and makes a major research and dissemination through lectures at institutions such as the Universities of Seville, Extremadura, and Alicante, among others, or teaching at the Conservatory of Music of Murcia and in the Department of Mining Cantes.
On Sunday, April 6, the traditional agent proclamation of Easter, which this year will be given by Diego Martínez Reverend in the Church of St. Peter the Apostle, after previous reception will be held at City Hall.
