The City of San Pedro del Pinatar today hosted the awards of "Ecolimpia" campaign during this school year has been developed with students in fifth and sixth of six primary schools in the municipality
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitacion Martinez, director of Fomento de Construcciones y Contratatas (FCC) Environment in Murcia, José Alcolea, today presented the awards for the Ecolimpia campaign, which the company has developed in collaboration with the Department of Education in schools Our Lady of Carmen, Hopes, Maspalomas, Los Pinos, San Pedro Apostle, and Joy Villa.
The mayor explained that this awareness campaign about recycling aims to raise awareness and attitudes in school about the importance of properly separate the different types of packaging at source.
Furthermore, to give students knowledge on waste generation and reuse them for different purposes.
Through warm conversation and practices explained a total of 426 students how to reduce waste at home and at school, different types of waste, how to separate them, their fate and the environmental benefits of recycling, among other topics .
For his part, José Alcolea has stressed the importance of such awareness campaigns and the children moved to foreground their immediate environment.
After the talks, the children have creatively captured information about the importance of recycling in drawings, comics, collages, etc..
The first prize of a tablet for the student and one for the school, has been for Carmen Galvez (CEIP Nuestra Señora del Carmen).
While the second prize, a bicycle, went to Lucía Sánchez (CEIP Maspalomas) and the third prize was an MP4 to Adrian Diaz (CBM Los Pinos).
The finalists have been made by Diana Mirete (CBM Los Pinos), Beatriz Izquierdo (CEC St. Peter the Apostle), Valeria Fernández (CEIP Villa Joy), Marina Morejon (CEC St. Peter the Apostle), and Lucia Scrambled (CEC St. Peter the Apostle ).
Also finalists work Paula Muñoz (CEIP Maspalomas), Doha Farla (CEIP Maspalomas), Álvaro Merono (CEC San Pedro Apostle), Silvia Mateo (CEIP Villa Joy) and Honey Andrea Hernandez (CEIP Maspalomas).
