The study of populations of tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus) on the coast of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, which is conducting the University of Murcia has the support of the current concessionaire Pest Control Service in town of San Pedro del Pinatar, so we have data from surveys conducted in our town.

Of the 18 traps colocaladas in San Pedro del Pinatar, and for 6 surveys carried out so far only been you encountered a positive in one of the traps placed and has been one of the pitfalls of the entrance to the town, not having located no more positive in the other placed traps.

This study will continue at least until November this year, while waiting for the results.

The possibility of false negatives may occur due to the existence of artificial containers ready accidentally (tires, flowerpot saucers, cans, etc..) Acting as pseudotrampas and compete with traps placed at the time to attract females mosquitoes, but due to the few rains in the period of the study, we can say that the results are effective, as there have been less artificial containers that could compete with the traps.
