The public supply of residential places for older people in the town of San Pedro del Pinatar is 172, explained the Minister of Health and Social Policy, Catherine Lawrence, during his visit to the residences 'San Pedro' and 'Villademar', both located in this coastal town.
The residence of seniors 'San Pedro', owned by the region, is the complex that previously was used as residence time.
In 2002 it changed its use and went to the comprehensive care of older people.
This residence, in which the IMAS has 100 seats, is managed by the Association 'Golden Age' Messengers of Peace, with whom a contract management of public service is maintained for a period of four years, in force until 31 July 2015, amounting to 7,141,368 euros.
Moreover, the residence 'Villademar' is a private residential complex with 120 accredited squares of the IMAS has contracted 72. Of these beds, 30 are for older people in situations of dependency and 42 are specific to geropsiquiátricos dependent .
