The Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities performs works of improvement and extension over the summer in 35 schools in 19 municipalities in the region

The Minister of Education, Culture and Universities, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitacion Martinez, this morning visited the refurbishment of the School of Early Childhood Education No. 1 municipality, which is undertaking a performance optimization of thermal and acoustic insulation of the center.

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities performs works of improvement and extension at 35 schools in 19 municipalities in the region this summer, with an investment of 616,301 euros.

This investment represents an increase of 20 percent in the amount allocated to these actions, which are executed taking advantage of the holiday period.

"This year 20 percent increase investment in summer works to continue maintaining and improving the facilities of public schools for the benefit of students and teachers.

Furthermore, these actions are also beneficial for generating economic activity and work, with about 200 professionals in the region will take part in the works in 35 schools, "said Pedro Antonio Sánchez.

Schools and colleges whose facilities are being renovated this summer belong to municipalities 19: Abanilla, Abarán, Albudeite, Aledo, Alguazas, Caravaca, Cartagena, Cehegín, Ceuta, Cieza, Fortuna, Lorca, Moratalla, Murcia, Puerto Lumbreras, Ricote, San Pedro, Torre Pacheco and Ulea.

The works are being undertaken ranging from improved insulation and waterproofing of schools and colleges, which improves energy efficiency and assumes maintenance savings, and a better climate conditioning of classrooms;

expansion of school canteens;

expansion of recreational areas;

conditioning porches;

and refurbishment of classrooms.

"The goal we have set is to increase investment to improve schools in the public network to provide the right conditions for student learning within the '+ Educational Quality + School Success' strategy.

We are also coordinated with municipalities for the implementation of these improvements, "the Minister of Education, Culture and Universities.

For his part, the mayor, Visitacion Martinez said the City Council is working on the refurbishment of the seven public schools in the municipality, with tasks of painting, masonry, gardening, plumbing, etc.
