Organized by the Los Alcazares Ecocultural Association and Association of Friends of Museums of San Pedro del Pinatar in Department of Culture of San Pedro del Pinatar, the exhibition "The Adventure of the Dornier" recounts an episode in our recent history.
In the year 1929, specifically on 21 June, four airmen, Ramon Franco, brother of the dictator Francisco Franco, with Gonzalez Gallarza, Modesto Ruiz de Alda and Madariaga, took off from the airfield at Los Alcazares on board a Dornier Wal bound New York in order to break the record for distance traveled in hydro.
But the raid became a real adventure when for various reasons, were wrecked in the Atlantic Ocean, far from any sea route.
The press around the world picked up the story became, recounting the search for 8 days was carried out in anguish.
The exhibition provides an opportunity to the public to visit the exhibition, building through photographs, maps, literary texts and newspaper articles of the time, the story of the wreck and its protagonists.
The story of a drift followed by the world as shown by many of the English texts we see in the CIT as a nod to foreign tourists interested in our history.
