The regional government remains committed to the care services for older people, according to the manager of the IMAS
The Murciano Institute of Social Action (IMAS) today held in San Pedro del Pinatar Traveling Day II 'The Welfare State;
Viability ', which aims to continue bringing and spreading all services for elderly and regional policies aimed at this group.
The event, first held in Los Alcazares last May, was opened by the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitacion Martinez, and in the course of which various issues were addressed, such as the presentation of the web ' Your Social Security 'telecare service and other services contained in the Law Unit.
In this sense, the managing director of IMAS, Leopoldo Navarro said during closing that "the regional government remains committed to the care services for older people" and stressed the increase of places, both residential and day center the consolidation of the Telecare service in the region and the extent of home help program.

Navarro noted that the Department on Aging IMAS "has long focused its policies on increasing seats and services, enabling us to have nearly 9,000 seats in different resources for seniors."
In this regard, he added that, today, the Community has 2,449 residential places, 981 in day centers, 4,072 in the telecare service and 150 in the Service home help, to which must be added the 1,054 aid linked to services, and spread over 403 residential places, 16 in center and 635 day in home help.
This network of resources must be added the 17 social centers for older people who serve approximately 14 percent of the population over 65, ie more than 24,000 older.
