The documentary Crusades Memories is an audiovisual project, the result of joint work of the Bank of Wisdom and partnership Pinatarense AIKE Mar Menor, where the most recent history of San Pedro del Pinatar through the experiences and stories of their neighbors explained live longer
The tent city of San Pedro del Pinatar hosted the Sunday, December 21, the screening of the documentary Memories Crusades, a study conducted by the Department of Citizen Participation, through Bank project Pinatarense Wisdom, in collaboration with the cultural association AIKE Mar Menor.
This project came to honor the largest in the county by the celebration in 2012 of the European Year of Intergenerational, and in order to hoard oral sources of the recent history of San Pedro del Pinatar.
The result was a first documentary in 2013 with the testimonies of five largest in the municipality, which encouraged many more neighbors to join the project, performing a second edition this year with new players.
So Memories Crusades II lists the lives and experiences of Pilar de la Osa, Norberto Albaladejo "the 95", Julia Garcia "The Quica" Miguel Pérez "The Cure" and Jose Lopez "Pepe the Colache", who offered to collaborate the bank pinatarense wisdom and give their life stories.
Through their stories, attendees learned about the everyday, the unofficial history, lifestyle, anecdotes and relationships between residents of the municipality in the decades of the 40s and 50s, discovering local history in an entertaining, recovering people's memory for transmission to future generations.
The life stories of a fisherman, a dressmaker, a priest, and two merchants, coral make this documentary in which each of the protagonists narrated in first person describes his childhood and youth in San Pedro del Pinatar.
Some stories that make us see how the town has changed and society in such diverse areas as work, leisure or dating.
Thus, the protagonists remember cardboard toys and games in the street, small schools in which they studied, the youth festivals and dances, walks, cinema and casino as meeting points.
Also refer to the office of the fisherman, the commercial life of the town, the chocolate industry and how they emerge in the village processions of Holy Week, as well as other associative movements that many of them part.
The event, attended by about 350 people, featured a performance by the Municipal Band Musical Union, which enlivened the proceedings with the interpretation of several musical pieces like the soundtrack of The Godfather, Invicta and Exodus.
In conclusion, the mayor, Visitation Martinez and Councilwoman Citizen Participation, Silvia Egea, thanked the contribution of the participants in this project delivering a personalized copy of the documentary.
The Bank of Wisdom is an open project that hopes to collect life stories of all who desire pinatarenses, thus building on the legacy of the municipality.
