The president of the Community, Alberto Garre, today stressed the "significant commitment" of the Murcia Government to improve public safety services in the Region of Murcia.
The head of Murcia, accompanied by the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, inaugurated the new premises of Comprehensive Security Center 'Adolfo Suarez', which houses the services of Local Police and Civil Protection.
The operation of this center of San Pedro del Pinatar allows the concentration of all safety and emergency services in one building, "thus ensuring immediate and better services to citizens," Garre said.
"This is not only a great physical work by more than 1,600 meters having built the building, but for services to be rendered by the troops that house, especially in the summer months," said Garre, who remarked that it was a "big bet by the municipality in cooperation with the Community".
Specifically, the Government of Murcia has invested in this center of San Pedro del Pinatar, whose implementation has been developed in three phases, nearly two million (1,915,526 euros).
Within the Regional Public Safety Plan of the Region of Murcia, the Community finances the work of 628 local police, which is an important part of the total workforce having the Local Police Forces in the region.
The regional government has invested this year nearly 19 million euros, of the agreements signed with the 45 municipalities in the region for this purpose, for a total investment of over 127 million since it was launched this Plan in 2006.
He recalled that the government is working on the Law of Coordination of Local Police of the Region of Murcia, which aims to improve the coordination of Local Police Forces acting within the regional territory and facilitate greater operability and adaptation local to the current social reality policemen.
More than 180 people work at the new center of San Pedro
The new building has a total of 1,632 square meters and is divided into three floors, where the facilities of Local Police, Emergency Services and Civil Protection and the group of volunteers and emergency telephone number 112 are distributed.
In total, 180 people who make templates of different local security services will be located.
The Coordination Centre Municipal Emergency 112, has dorms, operating section and emergency service, technical and office staff, crisis room, offices of the group of volunteers and the leadership of the Emergency Service and Civil Protection.
