The Municipal Emergency Service has begun to implement this plan with briefings and coordination with the different actors involved in its implementation.
The mayor of San Javier, Visitation Martinez and the councilman of Civil Protection, Angel Gaona, today presided over the first meeting for the implementation of the Local Plan for flood risk, coordinated by the Municipal Emergency Services.
The objective of these meetings is to present the guidelines to follow for the proper development of the plan among the groups involved and so that all bodies listed therein have the necessary information at risk.
So, have attended the first meeting the members that make up the organizational structure of the plan, such as the mayor, as director of the Plan, the heads of the departments of Public Safety, Civil Protection, Construction and Services, Planning, Health and Social Services ;
Sergeant of the local police;
the head of the Emergencies and the secretary of the corporation, as members of the
Advisory Committee, the Information Office and the head of operations.
It also held a meeting with the various task forces, formed by officials from the fire department of the Regional Consortium, municipal technicians, medical personnel and healthcare local police, municipal warehouse, a group of volunteers of Civil Defense and Red Cross, etc.
During both meetings, they have exposed the different phases of the Action Plan for local flood risk, as well as previous work developed to identify areas most vulnerable elements of the municipality to potential flood water, the means by which account cope and means of coordination to address the situation properly.
Thus, the plan identifies areas in the last 50 years have been most affected because of torrential rains, focusing these on the steps of boulevards, areas closest to the sea, beach or next to areas rafts or impoundments.
This document also includes information and early warning mechanisms, preventive measures, and the procedure to be followed when an alert condition, depending on the level of emergency is decreed.
After these meetings, the most important points of the plan to citizens will move through the City Social Council and meetings with residents of different neighborhoods and districts.
The mayor stressed the importance of this Plan, in which all means available in the city are coordinated to deal with possible flooding and also affects preventive measures to minimize the possible damage caused by rain, and informative, with so that citizens know how to act in these situations.
