San Pedro del Pinatar has celebrated the International Volunteer Day in a ceremony which recognized the altruistic work four years have played more than a hundred local volunteers in social, educational, sports and cultural projects, among others.
The mayor of San Pedro de lPinatar, Visitation Martinez, Councilman Volunteering, Daniel Perez, praised today the dedication and willingness of over hundred people in the last four years have participated in the Municipal Plan Vountariado, created in 2012 and, in particular, those who have uninterruptedly been part of this project.
The mayor stressed the theme of this year's commemoration of International Volunteer Day, which is celebrated on Saturday, December 5, "The world is changing, and you? Volunteer".
In this regard it has highlighted the selfless actions of local volunteers, who in recent years have contributed to the social, cultural, educational and community development in San Pedro del Pinatar.
For his part, Daniel Perez explained that more than a hundred volunteers who have contributed their time and willingness to various volunteer projects such as education assistants, school monitors, volunteers in nursing homes, those who collaborate with partner associations sanitary working with the disabled, Alzheimer's patients or people suffering from mental illness.
There have also been many volunteers for culture, collaborating with the archaeological museum, the library, or preparing presentations.
As those who have collaborated on programs for the prevention of truancy and school support.
Among the new lines RBIs this year, the council has stressed volunteers in sports, those who collaborated with the birthplace and childhood home for the summer or the growth of university volunteers, with the involvement of the Faculty of Sports Science , among others.
The event has been awarded to those volunteers who started his career in the municipal program and have done more hours of voluntary action.
This has been distinguished Victoria Alvarez Gil, for his work on behalf of older people in the residence Messengers of Peace;
Milagros Martinez and Maria Angeles Ruiz, for delivery in municipal schools EEN # 1 and Villa Joy, and Simon Hervé Arki, for the development of workshops in French conversation.
Finally, the event ended with the presentation of a small gift to each of the volunteers in appreciation for the important role they perform in the city.
