The Department of Citizenship promotes this initiative through the Bank of Wisdom Pinatarense and collaboration with the Aike Cultural Association, in charge of audiovisual project that collects in its third installment experiences five local residents.
The Councillor for Citizen Participation, Fuensanta Garcia, next to the municipal technician responsible for this initiative, Eva Gonzalez, today presented the third edition of the Crusades documentary memoirs, a project of the Bank of Pinatarense Wisdom, in collaboration with the cultural association Cultural AIKE .
The mayor explained that this initiative came to honor the elderly in the municipality by the celebration in 2012 of the European Year of Active Ageing and Intergenerational and in order to treasure oral sources of the recent history of San Pedro del Pinatar.
After the launch of Bank of Wisdom, in which the stories of many elderly in the municipality through the homes of pensioners and volunteers evidence emerged in 2013 in collaboration with the Aike association and the first Crusades Memories they were collected, with five testimonies over the city, an open and destined to continue the project, as they are already 15 seniors who have shared their experiences through the documentary in recent years.
Meanwhile, Eva Gonzalez, indicated that older participating in this third installment of the documentary, to be screened next Sunday, December 13th, at 19:00 in the tent city are Jose Vera Vidal, known as "Pepe the Segundino" which tackles the hard work in the salt;
Albaladejo Lopez Dolores "Lola Mingolesa" Hall worker from the 40s, and Jose Luis Perez Rock, "Rabbit," which recounts his life at sea and a story that connects with the colonial past or piracy.
Also participating in this third installment Julia Martinez Henarejos, working chocolate factory and the emerging tourism sector and Tárraga Gloria Carrasco, reminiscent in this project courtships of the time or rituals to prepare the marriage.
It has highlighted Eva Gonzalez, fragments of a life that give rise linked to a common history that has as reference points the municipality of San Javier, and a common chronology, the first half of the twentieth century.
The objective is to extol the Crusades Memories major role as a source of wisdom, but also provide young resources to assess the way that those before them walked up to convert the city into what it is today.
