The government delegate in Murcia has co-chaired the Local Security Board of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar, together with the local mayor, José García Ruiz.
At the same we have analyzed different aspects of public safety in the municipality and González Tovar has reiterated its confidence in the role of this body to improve the coordination of the actions of the National Police and Civil Guard and the local police municipalities in our region.

The municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar is served by the Guardia Civil, whose staff has had a significant increase under President José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.
The delegate recalled that in 2004 the number of guards was 17, while 47 officers currently make up the workforce, representing a 176 percent increase.
In this regard stated that "certainly this is an example of the efforts of the Government of Spain to improve public safety in our region with the increase in staff of the State Security Corps and demonstrate a clear commitment to San Pedro del Pinatar and the Community of Murcia. "
González Tovar also said that all these additions of agents leads to an increase of the catalog places the security forces, "so that it is stable and permanent additions" clarified.
This significant increase has been shown effective in a more effective policing.
Thus, when comparing with the previous last year, the number of crimes solved in the municipality has increased by 7 percent and the number of detainees in more than one hundred percent, from about 16 arrests in 2007 at 33, 2008.
