The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, today participated in the awards ceremony of the European Championship Marine Motorcycle Raid 2009, which took place at the Club Nautico de Lo Pagan, San Pedro del Pinatar.

The ceremony was also attended by Mari Carmen Ortiz, president of JSBA Spain.

In the event competed two dozen pilots from Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Brazil, Italy, Portugal, Czech Republic, France, Belgium and Spain.

Throughout the competition, which began last Aug. 28 and has developed off the coast of Almeria and Murcia, the participants have traveled 300 nautical miles (540 kilometers) in different types of tests.
