The Governing Council has authorized the expenditure of the proposed construction of seven auxiliary vessels for aquaculture in the area of the port of San Pedro del Pinatar, whose budget amounts to 1,587,080 euros.
The project will be financed by European funds by 51 percent, while the autonomous region will contribute 33 percent and the Ministry of Environment and Rural and Marine 16 per cent.
These seven buildings occupying a total of 1,435 square meters and will equip the port of San Pedro del Pinatar storage facilities of products related to the activities of farms, feed for animal feed.
This action responds to the need to adapt to the EU regulation of the ground facilities of the polygon aquaculture San Pedro del Pinatar.
Aquaculture enterprises located in the polygon reach an annual production of 7,000 tonnes.
The regional government through the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, develops various actions to manage and control the aquaculture, aimed at ensuring the environmental sustainability of the activity and food security of fishing production.
