On Saturday 06 March, Ken Sakiais Dikela Association "Eyes that see", presented awards for their project "activities for participation, integration and coexistence."
Activities designed for children aged between 8 and 11 years were developed in the schools of Torre Pacheco, Los Alcazares, San Javier and San Pedro del Pinatar (The Antolinos, Los Pinos and Hope), schoolchildren were quoted in the Tent of Modern Film Theatre to receive from the hands of Soledad Fernandez, president of the association and Felix Garcia, Councilman Parks and Gardens, the awards of the essay competition "What you know about other cultures?" and delivery of Drinking and medals of the Championship "Joint Fusion Sport 2009."
During the 2008/2009 academic year, the Association Ken Sakiais Dikela was funded by the Department of Citizen Participation of San Pedro del Pinatar, in the call for subsidies to local associations on a competitive basis that the Department develops, the project entitled: "Schools and sports knowledge to the integration and coexistence."
With this project the objective pursued was to launch an education program for social integration and harmony between children of different ethnicities and cultures through the development of sports, sport being a privileged tool to facilitate personal and social construction between them and them.
